Awesome Wrapping Paper Deals at Target!

Some of you might be wondering what a good price is for wrapping paper.  The problem is that most people look at the price, and not the Sq Ft. on the roll.  Many think they are getting a great deal and then find out they have to go buy more rolls because they have run out and only wrapped two presents.  So, comparing the square footage of the roll to the price is super important!

Last year, Walgreens actually had a FREE Roll of wrapping paper after Register Rewards.  And, Target had a 180 sq. ft Roll for only $4.00!  But, both of those deals were advertised in their weekly ads- so they sold out super fast.  And, it was hard to get the wrapping paper colors/designs you wanted because they were practically gone.

Last night I went to Target and saw that they had their 90 Sq Ft Rolls of Wrapping Paper for only $2.50!!  That is a great price for that size.  And, even though it isn’t officially advertised, I am betting that is the price you will see at your store too.  Just in case it finally does get advertised next week as a “sale”, you might want to head over this week and pick up the kinds you want before they get picked over!

  1. I was in Hallmark yesterday, and they have super cute wrapping paper buy one get one for .99 cents. They also have big rolls which are extra long for big boxes. The roll you pay full price for is $4 something.

  2. If you also want to save money I have bought a ton of wrapping paper, christmas and non-christmas at yard sales. It’s been super cheap. One sale I paid like 25 cents a roll and another sale I bought a whole wrapping paper holder with like 20+ rolls in it mostly new for $4. Great way to save!

  3. I purchased cute wrapping paper on the big rolls at Target last year. Never again! The paper was impossibly thin. Several of the packages ended up tearing through the paper just while they were being transported in the car to their destination. It ripped several times while I was wrapping presents. I’ve never had that happen before with any other paper. It’s worth it to pay more and not have to re-wrap your presents.

  6. I agree, some of the Christmas wrapping papers are horribly thin. I actually found the little rolls in Target’s dollar section were thicker than some of the bigger rolls. Granted it might not be the best bang for your buck, but I was able to wrap up some of the kids toys with one roll.

  7. I went into walgreens yesterday and they had 50 sq ft rolls for 1.99 but then you get a roll free. So it’s 100 sq ft for $1.99! Great deal. They had super cute prints also!

  8. It’s worth it to pay for quality paper. I don’t care how cheap wrapping paper is if it’s too thin to do the job and you have to keep wrapping the same present over and over to cover the holes that get torn in it just by wrapping it. Last year I bought some at Hobby Lobby when they were 50% off. I got 100 sq. ft. for $4. And it was really thick paper. I went and bought more this year when they were 50% off because I will pay a little more since it is good quality paper. If the paper was cheap, but thin and you have to wrap something a couple of times, you might as well buy paper that is a little more money so and you don’t have to use as much.

  9. I”m with T.K. about Costco. If you go the day after Christmas they have remainders marked down. I get that and use it the coming year, or two, or three… 😉 They are HUGE and really good quality.

  10. I went and they have cute paper! I didn’t like how long the rolls were – they won’t fit in my wrapping box. ðŸ™

  11. Costco has great deals on wrapping paper and it is a huge roll I believe around 500 feet. It is very thick and lasts a long time I only buy some every other year because I always have left overs! 🙂

  12. I never pay more than $1 for at least 50 sq. ft. They had rolls at Walgreens last week 3 for $1.99, and some of them were 100 sq. ft!! And they were Hallmark brand!!

  13. Remember the sq. ft. is NOT how long the roll is. 100 sq. ft. of wrapping paper is only 40 feet long, so 40 sq. ft. of wrapping paper is not very much at all. Keep that in mind when pricing a good deal. I agree, Costco paper is awesome and lasts forever, Target paper sucks.

  14. I am sooo disappointed in the Target wrapping paper! I paid too much ($5.00). I wasted my money. The paper is thick, but it doesn’t fold well, and tape won’t stick to it! It had glitter on it, which won’t hold tape. So we are using MUCH MORE tape to hold it closed.
