I had 33 as the correct answer.. but I know a lot of people counted titles that had two “free’s” in it too. So they would have had more. But, at least 33. 🙂

I don’t understand what I could have done wrong. Below are the titles to the 40, not 33, posts between October 3rd and October 6th that had the word free in the title. Which of these posts should I not have counted, since they all have the word free in the title, none is a duplicate, and they were all posted in the time frame we were supposed to use? Thanks!

Yeah, I felt pretty confident with my number too – just reviewed my list with yours Shelly and we agree. Maybe Melea posted the wrong number as 33 on Facebook. Anyone that won, can you confirm that you had 40, or 33? I don’t want to whine about a giveaway because blogs don’t have to do these. This giveaway took a little extra time, so I was disappointed that I wasn’t even in the running for it.

I know, I don’t want to complain either, as it’s a nice little extra that Melea doesn’t have to do. However, like you said, this took quite a bit of time, and it bums me out, too, that I apparently wasn’t even in the running, although it appears that I did everything right. I cut and pasted every one to be sure there were no duplicates. Then I went back to the site and recounted – twice, and got 40 each of the 3 times I counted. I took a lot of time to do this, because I really wanted to win. If I made some mistake, then I understand, but if I did it right, I’m sad that I apparently had no chance to win after all of that time put into it.

Hey everyone! I should have said this earlier so you guys wouldn’t be so worried… since people were counting the numbers differently, anyone who entered 33 or higher as their number was entered. So, for all of you who got 40, you were definitely put in the drawing. As long as you were in the ball-park, I figured it ws only fair to enter everyone who was keeping track. So, don’t worry if your number was higher than 33, you were entered. 🙂

Thanks for letting us know that we were in the running, but I do think that we should have needed to have the correct answer to win. If we put all that work into it to be sure that we were right, it hardly seems fair that someone who wasn’t right could have won instead of those of us who had it correct. There could only be 2 correct answers, according to the rules – 40 or 41 (I think there was only one post that had free twice in the title), so I don’t understand where the 33 comes into this. I can see no way to misinterpret the rules in a way that would have resulted in less than the correct amount. I can see if less than 25 entrants had the right answer, drawing from the wrong ones after all the correct ones had won, but displacing those who answered correctly isn’t really fair to those of us who did it correctly. I congratulate the winners, but what’s the point in having rules, that some of us followed meticulously and laboriously, if they aren’t used to determine those winners? I’m sorry, but this just bothers my sense of fair play.
