Club 33 at Disneyland!

This is one thing I just had to share with all of you.  I was able to check off one of the things on my “Bucket List” while we were at Disneyland.  And, it was actually one of those things that I never, ever thought I would actually be able to do because the chances were just so slim of it working out.  But… dreams do come true!!

Inside Disneyland Park, there is a place called Club 33.  It is hidden among the doors in New Orleans Square and you would never even know it was there.  If you don’t know what Club 33 is, let me give you a little backstory.

When Walt Disney was building his Theme Park, he needed extra funds to help put it all together.  So he asked his friends, celebrities, politicians and more to help him to get his dream moving.  As a “thank you” to all of those who supported him, he built a secret club inside the park.  For celebrities, it gave them a great place to eat and spend time in the park without being bombarded by the crowds. And, it was meant to give Walt a place to dine and entertain his special guests away from the public and in a quiet place .

Club33 is a 5-Star Dining Experience. And, the only way you can even get in is if you are member.  Mind you- the memberships are so expensive that only celebrities and millionaires can even afford it.  Plus, only 500 Memberships are ever given at a time.  So, as of right now.. they have a 14 year waiting list.

As you can tell, unless I became a Millionaire somehow- there was no way I was ever going to get to go inside Club33.  But, I put it on my bucket list anyway.  Well, I must have gotten my own Fairy Godmother because the stars aligned and a friend of a friend of a friend actually got us in to experience Club33 for ourselves.  Definitely a once in a lifetime experience.. and one that I just had to share with all of you! 🙂

So, since we are speaking of “Bucket-Lists”, what items have you been able to cross off?  Or, what items are you hoping to get done in your lifetime that are waiting to be crossed off??

  1. There are so many things I have on my bucket list, but the one thing I want to do before I die is sing the National Anthem in front of thousands of people. It would be awesome!

  3. I love that you got to do this!! My parents were able to get us into club 33 when we were kids. I don’t know how they did it, I am sure they had a connection like you as well! It was so fun to eat in a secret club at Disneyland! I would love to visit Italy some day…I hope I get to cross that off my “bucket list” eventually.

  7. Well, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I HATED it! I can pretty much get to Club 33 whenever I can get to Anahiem, (a connection with my husband’s work) but I don’t think I’ll go again. Maybe, but it’s not like high on my list.
Our food bill for lunch was $575 for 2 adults and 3 children. The kids didn’t eat any of their food cause it was so weird and we were told that they had to order something. I would rather have paid to get it the park, it would have been cheaper!. The food, to me, just was NOT that amazing.
I paid like probably $12 for my kids drink….and it wasn’t even a refillable that I could use the rest of the day.
My husband has been there for dinner and LOVED it. Maybe they do better with A) dinner and B) when he’s with a large group.

    • Yeah, our bill wasn’t even close to that… and definitely wasn’t charged $12 for a Kid’s Drink. But we did go for Dinner. So maybe it is different! The food was great for us and a great experience. I’m sorry yours hasn’t gone as well!

    • I have to agree w/ Debora although I’ve never been to Disneyland (nor care to go.) I’m not the “Club 33” type. (As mentioned, you have to be rich &/or have connections.) I’m a simple person & really don’t like to get all “dolled up” to eat out. (I’m not talking McDonald’ s either. *hee*) And, I can totally understand the kids not liking it! It sounds like it should be restricted to adults only.

  11. i just want to live a successful simple life really..i’ll have 3 children in march (plus a stepson) and the number one thing in my life is to make sure that they know responsibilities. i see way too many young people these days living off their parents and other people and i do not want my kids to think that is ok..when me and my husband are gone we can’t help anymore and i’d love for them to do it on their own 🙂

  12. You just named the #1 thing on my bucket list. I am a huge Disney fan and even named my girls after the princesses! I would take out a second mortgage on my house to go there! 🙂 That is so exciting for you! Club 33… check!

  13. One thing on my bucket list was to buy something at Tiffany’s Jewelry Store, wrapped in one of their signature blue boxes with a white ribbon. Never thought I’d actually do it but this past summer my husband took me to Tiffany’s a bought me a beautiful pair of silver know earrings. (I would have been happy with the cheapest thing in the store!)

  15. Most people think I’m crazy when I mention my dream. However, ever since I first saw the movie JAWS I’ve been fascinated with Great White Sharks. The biggest thing on my bucket list is to go diving with a Great White Shark (in a cage of course). Who knows maybe someday, I’ll see my dream come true but, then again, it might be the last thing I do on my bucket list. : )

  17. I had 3 things on my bucket list. Go to Hawaii, swim with the Dolphins, and see David Copperfield live in LasVegas. The first 2 I was able to do in 2009 because I won free airfare from my work and we used our timeshare. It was AMAZING!!! I live in UT so you would think that the 3rd one would be easy to do, but for some reason, I have not been able to accomplish this one. I would love to though! I guess I need to start thinking of more things to add to my list.

  18. Growing up in CA we were very lucky to know people or have connections to members of Club 33 and we have been totally spoiled to the Club 33/Disneyland experience. We even had my daughter’s 13th birthday party there and she got 3 amazing desserts. Now living in NC I have booked my first trip to Walt Disney World for my son’s 7th birthday and while I am sure my 3-7 year old will love WDW..nothing compares to the Club33 experience…Even the potties in the ladies room are posh. Do they still have the little 33 chocolates??
