If you have never tried Netflix, it is one of those things that our family has really enjoyed in the past. And being able to do a 1-month trial that is SUPER easy to cancel and has no-strings attached makes it even more worth it to try out.
When you sign up for a 1 month trial, you will get 1 DVD out at a time. Plus, one of the best parts is how fast their shipping is. I can usually send my DVD back and have the next DVD received in 2 days.
During the Fall and Winter, it can be hard to keep your family entertained for cheap- since going outside isn’t really an option when it is super cold. So, you can use this 1-Free Month of DVDs to do fun movie nights inside, in an indoor tent or come up with another creative idea.
This is what I would recommend:
- Head over and sign up for the 1-Month Trial of Netflix
- Then, mark on your calendar the actual cancel-by date and a reminder 2 days before.
- If you want to continue after the 1-Month, it is only $9.99 a month to get out 1 DVD at a time as many times as you want. Plus, you get movies 24/7 with Instantly Streaming!
- Or, if you want to cancel and decide you don’t like it, I would actually cancel 2-3 days before your actual month is up. That way, there is no discrepancy if you actually cancelled in time or not.
Enjoy this is perfectly fun thing to enjoy for free! Just remember to mark your calendars as soon as you start it. 🙂

Just so you know…that first month is only free if you cancel. If you choose to keep the service you will be billed for that first trial month.

I just wanted to point out that for those of you that choose to keep this service it is not $9.99/month for 1 DVD at a time and unlimited streaming. They have changed their rate plans as of september 1, 2011. So be careful because they will charge you the $15.98 a month for the 1 dvd out and unlimited streaming if you don’t cancel or if you do not go into your account and manually change your rate plan. Never tried Netflix before, so I am excited to try it!

Yes! Netflix used to be 9.99 a month for one dvd at a time, plus the streaming. Since prices have gone up I now pay a little over $17 a month for the same thing. We still love it though!

This is how we go started with Netflix. I figured I’d cancel after the first month, but we’ve loved it!

Netflix is good, but like Brittanie said their pricing has changed so make sure you are aware of the price before you sign up. Also, they announced that they’re splitting the company into two. Netflix will just be streaming – no DVDs, etc. And the DVDs will be under another name. It’s a great deal if you’re going to stream but if you don’t get around to watching 8 DVDs in a month (that’s the unlimited DVDs for $7.99 – 1 DVD at a time)…red box might be cheaper.
