I think this idea is genius! And I know everyone is going to be super excited when I tell you how SavingStar Works.
Basically you can log into your SavingStar account and download eCoupons onto your Shopper’s Card. Anytime you purchase those products and use your eCoupons, the same amount will be put into your SavingsCard Account. You can then redeem those points for things like FREE Gift Cards to Amazon or Paypal.
Here is how to get all set up and ready to go:
- Create an account on SavingStar
- Then, add your Shopper’s Card to your account.
- Browse for Grocery Store eCoupons and add them to your card.
- At checkout, your purchase total will stay the same and the money is put into your SavingStar Bank.
SavingStar says that you can use these special eCoupons on top of Manufacturer coupons. But I have yet to try it out at my Smith’s, where that isn’t allowed with other eCoupons. So not sure if there is something special about SavingStar, or if stacking only applies to places who allow it already. I’ll let you know what I find out!
**Any store that has a shopper’s card can have eCoupons put on them through SavingStar. YAY! Also, please note that your total WILL NOT change with the eCoupons on your card. Instead of your grocery total lowering, you will have the same amount put into your account to earn free gift cards instead.

At checkout, you will get the money off your purchase and money put in your SavingStar Bank.”

The way I am reading this is you do not get the money off your purchase, you just get the money put into your rewards account? Maybe I am reading too much into it. “Use your loyalty card at checkout (note: your bill will stay the same). Then your rewards will be added into your account.”

I have been using SavingsStar for about 2 months now. It works along with manufacture coupons. Input your loyalty card into your account on savings star. Pick your coupons. Don’t forget to print the list and take it to the store with you. Give your store ( Smith’s is mine of choice ) your loyalty card and manufacture coupons. The total after coupons will stay the same. The store then uploads the info about your purchases to Savings Star. Then the amount of coupons for items you purchaced is available in your account. Then choose your redemption ( paypal for me ). The only downside I’ve had so far is that it took Smith’s 1 month to upload the info and the money to become available, so in the meantime I had to keep track of which items I purchased because the coupons are only redemable one time.
