Will accept coupons that are expired. A few weeks ago, another cashier just scanned them – perhaps didn’t notice and they were accepted. Yesterday, my cashier was soo anal – turned on the blue light, made everyone behind us wait forever. I remarked, “please just try to scan them and see if they work, if not, then it’s not worth the hassle for $1.50.” The cashier completely ignored me, called over another individual and she said, “Just scan them and see what happens!” Wala- they worked!! So anyways, needless to say, it’s in their coupon policy that they have to be used before expiration, but my last 2 times, I was successful….just saying!

Hey Tammy, You may be new to using coupons so I just thought I would point out that using expired coupons is actually illegal. They will always scan. But if you use a coupon after its expiration date, the store won’t get remiubursed for the coupon. Which means… that they might stop taking coupons if they aren’t getting remibursed.

Using them in a way you’re not supposed to can be illegal, but a store making an exception and taking them isn’t illegal. In fact, a lot of couponers send their expired coupons to bases and such because the military families are still able to use them. In Tammy’s case the store probably won’t get their money because their policy says that for a reason.

I am not surprised by your comments. You are intentionaly using expired coupons. Going to the store atleast twice ( by your own admission ) . I hope they catch on to you soon. You are a bad example of how to save money and give the rest of us a bad name. Remember one bad apple ruins the bunch.

I went to walmart this past weekend and they did not have the travel size degree deodarant, I went the next day to Dollar General for some other items and found the regular size degree deodarant for $1.00 so I got the regular size free at Dollar General, sure glad they were out at my Walmart! 🙂

I did mine online when they had a deal on subscribing, but you can get them in stores like Wal-Mart. The thing is, they may be gone in store by the time you get to it, lol. The value of the coupons always makes it more than worth it.

Ana, Take a copy of the Walmart Coupon Policy with you. It specifically states that Walmart will give you the overage- and shouldn’t be adjusting your coupons down.
