I do not recommend trying energy drinks. They are dangerous and should be taken off the shelf.
I lost my 23 year old daughter in 2006 after she consummed three red bull energy drinks. Everyone
has to make their own decisions about this but I always try to give them the info to make an informed decision.
Energy Drinks have a chemical called taurine. Taurine enhances the effects of other chemicals including caffeine. Scientists are not fully aware of the effects of combining taurine and caffeine but they do know there have been some fatal outcomes. They are not sure of the maximum tolerance of caffeine one can handle, that obviously varies by individual. Combining all the caffeine in the energy drink plus the hidden caffeine also and taurine can be disasterous.
In Canada the government has required Red Bull to put a warning label on their prooduct stating not to consume more than two in a 24 hour period. The USA does not require this. Does that mean that if my daughter had only drank 2 Red Bulls she would be alive? Who knows? All I know is I don’t want to drink anything that will kill you if you drink 3 of them.
Like I said everyone has to make e=their own decisions but at least make an informed one.
