So I had to leave you all this morning for a bit to head to Walmart for their Double Coupon Tuesdays in Utah County. As much as I love running this blog, I don’t get as much of a chance to get out and get a lot of the deals- So today was super nice to get out and spend 2 hours shopping. It relaxes me!
If you plan to try the Double Coupon Tuesday at Utah County Walmarts, make sure you have each of your coupons laid on your items like this picture:
So I wanted to give you a run-down of my trip. I purchsaed 53 items for only $33.99! That ends up being only $.64 per item- and I purchase things like Ham steaks, Food Coloring for our Easter Eggs, Baby Wipes and more!

I live in Davis County and actually called the Walmarts today and they DO NOT double coupons. The Walmarts in Utah County do it on a store by store basis (so they said at the Layton store). I was pretty bummed to hear that, I was looking forward to doubling my coupons today.

They do this to compete with Ridleys Market that does it every Tuesday.. and I think Ridleys is only in Utah county.

When you say they double the coupon, do they only double it up to $1.00?

There are Ridleys in Box Elder and Cache Counties, but they do not do the double coupon Tuesdays. They did a dbl coupon event last Thursday and said they may do it again in the future, but it will only be advertised on their facebook page.

My question to you melea is how do you plan for the trip do you look at your coupons as you go throught the store of do you only take in a few, me i would be in the store forever figureing prices and looking for all the coupons. Please email me and help

Ashley- I take a look at coupons that are under $1.00 and have an idea of prices for different items. Then, I go and look for those items in store to see if the doubled coupon makes it a good deal or not.

yep! I went this morning to the Lindon Walmart and got some great deals. I went @ 6: 30 a.m. – loved being in Walmart when it was empty (and no one behind me in line)! My cashier was great and very patient. All of my coupons were doubled *up to* $1.00.

So you have to lay every coupon on each item as you put it on the checkout counter? I’ve never couponed at Walmart and REALLY want to but I’m very intimidated by the bad experiences others have had. So I want to make sure I get every detail right to try to avoid as much anxiety as possible!!

I’ve never laid out my coupons on the items instead I just let the cashier know I have coupons when I begin to checkout. Don’t be intimidated, it is a good chance to let the cashiers learn how to do their job.

Hahaha! I know I shouldn’t feel intimidated. But some of the cashiers at certain stores look at me like I’m taking money out of their own personal paycheck. I’m a newbie couponer, so this stuff still scares me 🙂 But I’m hoping to get up the nerve to do a Walmart trip soon…

I just got back from Walmart in Cedar Hills. I asked the cashier if it was indeed double coupon day, and if she wanted all the coupons at once, or on each item, and she wanted them on each item. I don’t know if she was new, didn’t get the memo, or was just extra nice, because she doubled ALL of my coupons, even a $1 and a $2! I ended up getting several items for free. She would not, however, double the coupon if it would make the item better than free (a 75 cent coupon on an item that was $1). Score. I’m so glad you gave us the heads up, and I hope they do this next week!

Hi All!
I called around to a couple of Salt Lake County Walmarts today to see if they would honor the coupon policy, and they said that if you bring in Ridleys add that notes the double coupon policy, the Walmart will honor it. If they say no, you can mention that they do it in the Utah County stores and you should be able to get away with it.

I understand doubling a coupon, but the up to $1.00 gets me. So if I have a coupon that is $0.50 then I of course get $1.00 off, but if my coupon is $0.75 do I get the original $0.75 off plus the bounce $0.75 or just an additional $0.25 making it $1.00? Same with the $1.00 coupon, would it be doubled or not? Thanks!

get free frank’s hot sauce (its like 75-cents at walmart for small bottle) and great deals on mustard by printing coupons from the French’s website. You’ll have to register to get access to coupons. Last time I checked they had the following coupons:

Ok, so this Walmart doubling/rounding up thing is crazy but if you’re patient you’ll rack up the savings. The Lindon Walmart is participating but their policies change all the time so CALL AHEAD. They don’t start doubling until 7 AM and you must lay out your coupons on each item so that the cashier can do the manual deduction on each item and THEN ring up the coupon itself…crazy. Be prepared to wait a while bc they stick all the couponers in one line, takes about 30-45 mins per person!!!! Can’t complain, I cut my bill in 1/2 🙂
