Heads UP: National Companies’ Email Lists Breached!

DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission.

I’ve received about 5 emails from National companies over the last 24 hours that their email subscriber lists were breached by a hacker. Walgreens, Smiths, BeBe are just a few of them who have had issues.  If you get emails from them, your email address could have been given out to spammers.

Please be wary of any emails you receive where you do not know the sender.  And, please do not click on any weird links.  I don’t want anyone to receive a virus.

**I do wish that huge companies like this could do a better job keeping our information private.  I don’t need my email address circulated all over the Internet to spammers.

  7. I think that for the most part a lot of companies do a good job of keeping things private and secure. Unfortunately when something like this happens, we all tend to look at the negative side of things, and don’t realize that companies are working hard to protect our information. Just be glad your bank account hasn’t been compromised, that is a lot more trouble, hassle, stress than your email. Been there done that.

  9. I’ve also received 5 similar notifications. I’m also annoyed and I’ve already noticed an increase in my spam mail, but it wasn’t each of these companies breached individually, but one marketing firm called Epsilon that handled our information for each of these large companies. If that many big names thought they could trust Epsilon, I’m sure all these companies we use are just as upset as we are.

  11. Add these to your list: Victoria’s Secret, Target, Fashion Bug, Walmart. Got the same notices about Epsilon. Inadvertantly someone got my passwords somehow and got into my Paypal account and made a purchase through my bank account which I stopped right away. I spent hours changing all my passwords on all my accounts, but I fear that someone now has my bank account number and credit card number since they are linked with Paypal…..what a nightmare! Everyone beware!
