On the 7UP coupon, it says "free up to 1.59" but the soda is on sale for 88 cents. So does the cashier still take off 1.59 from your total bill since that is what the store gets reimbursed for?

I haven't pulled out the coupon. But there is usually a spot to write in the amount of the free product on the coupon. And that is what the store is reimbursed for. If there isn't a spot to write it in, then the store will only make the soda free.. they won't give you overage.

There IS a spot on that coupon to write it in — can I do that before I get to the store or does the cashier have to write it in? If the cashier only takes off the 88 cents, can I "fight" it to ask for 1.59 off?
