In my coupon conferences, through Facebook or through email, I always get asked why you should get multiple copies of the paper. This is a good example of why:
This picture is of 27 FREE Cans of Libby’s that I was just able to purchase at Macey’s TODAY! All I had to pay was a total of $.29 for tax! So basically 1 cent a can if you include tax!
Through today, August 31st- Macey’s has their Libby’s Canned Vegetables on Sale for $.33. Then, use the $1.00 off 3 coupon from the 8/29 RP or the 8/29 Parade Insert. Total cost FREE!
If you have one copy of the paper, you can still snag 6 free cans of vegetables. But, I have multiple copies of the paper and was able to score 27 cans of free vegetables. That really comes in handy in the future and that is what coupons are all about. By stocking up when items are cheap or free, you won’t have to pay full price when you run out. Just keep a running stockpile so you always have a storage of rotating food. And, it will all be items that you paid very little for because you thought ahead.
With what I was able to grab with my coupons, I stocked up on Corn and Green Beans for Thanksgiving too! Now I won’t have to pay full price for them in November.
This is where the newspaper subscription comes into play. For one more week, The Salt Lake Trib and The Deseret News are offering a Full Year Subscription to the Sunday Paper (where you get your coupons) for only $19.99. It normally costs $64 for an entire year.
Yes, you can get one copy. But I would URGE you to get multiple copies so you can stock up like I did on crazy deals. The vegetable deal is not the only thing that you will score for free during the month. It is just an example that I was able to show you today. And you WILL get more than your money back for the price of the subscription.
I only have 5 copies of the paper. But The Deseret News and The Salt Lake Trib are letting us all get up to 8 copies of the paper now. So, if you already have 4 or 5, you can upgrade at the $19.99 price for your additional papers. That is really cool!
The Salt Lake Papers will make you pay up front for your subscription. But, the good news is that you won’t have to worry about paying for your newspaper subscription for a full year! Once this offer ends, it will go back to the $64 per year price. So, please don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
Just think of what 8 copies could have done for me today. That would have been 48 cans of Free Libby’s Vegetables!
To grab the newspaper deal before it is over, call Debbie at 801-344-2923. Make sure you tell her Melea at Freebies2Deals so she will give you the right price. She is the one who is taking care of the subscriptions for all of us. If she isn’t there, leave a message and she will call you back. (Don’t worry if her answering machine says The Daily Herald, she works for the Salt Lake Papers too)
**The Macey’s in Pleasant Grove had TONS of cans left. Stacks of them. If you are going to another Macey’s location. You will want to call and make sure they have the $1.00 for 3 price and have cans left before you go.
IMPORTANT: If you don’t live in Utah to take advantage of the newspaper deal, call up your newspaper and ask them for prices on a Sunday Only Subscription or a Weekend Subscription. They will usually be able to give you a pretty great deal!

I live in kaysville and I didn't have that coupon in my smartsource and it isn't on the smartsource website. Any ideas?
AveyMomma

Melea

I think I will see if wal mart will price match so I dont have to head out to maceys today.
Deanna
The Salt Lake papers do not have the red plum inserts right?
The Hays Family
Got 30 cans for .30 at Macey's in PG. Just a heads up, the Parade coupons wouldn't scan so they had to scan my RP coupons twice. Very friendly about it though and they had TONS of cases left at 1pm.

I thought this deal was only good at the Provo Macey's as it states in their ad. Is it good elsewhere too?kat

The coupon was also in the Parade magazine from 8/29 which is in all Utah papers, just in case you're in an area with out a Red Plum insert.

I get the Standard Examiner and I don't see a parade from 8/29. Am I losing it? These great deals are making me crazy!
Melea
Kat-I went to the Pleasant Grove Macey's. So it might be that other Macey's have theirs on sale for 3 for $1.00 as well.Gwen, it is the Parade Magazine. So it isn't a normal coupon insert… look for the Parade Magazine and you will find the coupons inside.Deanna-Right. The Salt lake papers do not have red plum inserts… but you should have gotten the Parade magazine with the same coupons.

Ok, so here is my question. I currently get 5 daily heralds every sunday. These two news papers don't carry the Red Plum insert….. is it worth it to switch???? I'm thinking I don't want to go with out the red plum… but I could save like six months worth of subscription…. what to do???
Melea
Yeah, that is a hard one. I think getting the Red Plum inserts are a great bonus. I know I am still keeping my subscription to the Daily Herald. BUT we don't know if The Daily Herald will have red plum in about a month or so. They are renegotiating their contract with them. So, it is up to you to decide. Sorry, Im not much help!

Alright! Help me out! I just flipped through all 5 of my Standard Examiners and the only insert similar to the parade is a USA weekend but I do not see anything like the parade that I have seen in Deseret News. Is it definitely in the Standard in Davis County? If so, who/what is on the cover? It is a bit bigger than the size of the coupon inserts but not as big as a full newspaper page correct?

I get the STandard Examiner too and I didn't see it either. I dug and dug too. I wanted it!!
Michelle
I sent my husband to get some for me because I didn't have any makeup on, he got 9 cans for free and spent $4 in candy for the kids! HAHA so much for saving money!
