Update: Hey guys! I need to post a retraction! When I did this deal yesterday, I didn’t even check the size restriction on the coupon. And, now it looks like I might have used the coupon on the wrong size!! I cannot believe I did this and have never made that big of a mistake before. I am really upset with myself and will be calling Macey’s today to see how they would like to fix the situation. For those of you who are new to coupons, if you use a coupon for the wrong size item- stores won’t get reimbursed for the coupon. And we always want to make sure they do, or they may stop accepting them. So sorry for the mistake! I will fix it with Macey’s today!
I ran over to Macey’s to grab Fireworks for tonight. They seem to have the best price. Plus, they have a $10 off Fireworks coupon in their ad. (You can grab it at the store)
But, while I was there, I noticed that they had the Krunchers Kettle Chips for only $.59! We have a $1.00 off Krunchers coupon from the 06-27-10 SS or 04-18-10 SS.
Since the item is less than the amount of the coupon, I asked them what they did in situations like this.They asked a few people and ended up just handing me back $1.97 in Cash since I purchased 5 bags! I have never had a store do that before.
I’m not quite sure what the Macey’s policy is for situations like this. Normally, they would have you grab a filler item so your total breaks even. But, either way, it is a killer deal and great way to get cash back or money towards other items you are purchasing!!

My Maceys reduced my coupon amount when the was for more than the purchase amount of the items; they said they don't give overage (like I get at Walmart, when I occasionally shop there)

I took my first couponing class at the West Jordan Macey's and was told that they do give overage. But I've never tested it because they're far enough away from my house that if I go there, I buy more than just 1 thing.

I thought the coupon was for a larger bag. I bought some smaller bags recently for $0.59, but didn't think the coupon would work on them…

Nice! Anytime I might get overage I also put in fillers because I don't know how the cashier will react if the total falls below zero!

The coupon is for the larger bag that is $2.50 🙁 We need to be honest when using coupons so stores will continue to use them.
