So, being the crazy couponer that I am, I headed to Smith’s last night at Midnight. They have a few locations that are open 24 hours and I figured I better get a jump on the craziness! My total last night was $72.73 and after coupons, and everything else, it ended up being $23.39! Plus, I received a $4.00 Catalina at checkout! Grand Total spent $19.39!!
That’s a 74% savings. Considering I stocked up on things like Canned Fruit and other awesome products, I’m happy with the amount I spent!
A few tips from my experience:
- A Coupon that says $1.00 off 2 WILL NOT Double. Technically you are only getting $.50 off each item, so you would think they would double that. But, they specifically told me that it wouldn’t. So look at the amount of the coupon. If it is under $1.00, it will double.
- If you think the item is sold out, you may want to check around other parts of the stores for displays. Last night, I wanted to grab the Pretzel Flipz but they were out. I walked in the Freezer section and there they were in a bin. NO ONE knew about it! Pretty sweet. So, check around to see if there is another display of the items you want.
In addition to the first Smith’s Double Coupon list I posted here, there are a few other deals I deemed worthy to pick up. I spent about 2 hours going up and down aisles to see what other hidden deals there were. So, I may have to go back today to grab the ones I didn’t know about!

Purchase 4 selected GM items and get a $4.00 Catalina

If any of you want to get crazy out there, there is a deal that COULD work. But I haven’t been able to try it myself.
The General Mills Catalina worked for me last night when I purchased Fiber One Bars. So it is still going.
Wheaties Fuel is priced at $1.97.
Plus, there is a $.75 off Coupon from the 05-02-10 SS (doubles to $1.00)
You would pay $.97 per box! Which is already pretty sweet!

at 7:10 this morning there were a lot of items out of stock, but i got 25 items and paid only 11 cents! and I got back a $4 catalina 🙂

FYI – the Smith's in Brigham City is only taking two internet coupons per "visit"(I tried to buy 4 packages of Huggies this morning using 4 $3.00 off coupons and they would only take 2 of the coupons). They also said they no longer take "free" Internet coupons (probably because of the Dorito's Free PDF coupon fiasco) and they do not accept any internet coupons over $5.00.

I just got lots of great stuff Did mulitple transactions but before coupons $287 after coupons spent $22.87! Seriously stocked up on most of the freebies can't have enough granola bars. I went to the Woods Cross Smiths and had great sucess!

My trip went great! I did 4 transactions of the Nature Valley, Fiber One, and Granola Clusters and rolled each catalina into the next transaction. I used the last $4 cat towards my doubles transaction. My total was $189.xx and I paid $51.xx. The 2 ladies behind me were in shock and said they had never seen anyone in person save so much money, they had only seen people on the news that used coupons to save so much. It was a fun trip, and I love Smiths for giving us doubles.

Okay so I am totally new to couponing. I mean bran new! lol. So I went to the conference Melea put on last week which totally motivated me. I live in Tooele and we don't have a Smith's so thought I would hit SLC to do some arrends and go to SMITHS! Before coupons: $ 73.79 after coupons I only paid $ 12.38! Most of you have done so much better but for my first real time… I think I did pretty good, I was so pumped! Thanks Melea for your help at the conference and each and ever day on this site! Good job Lisa! I remember when I first started (only 4 months ago) I had some trips where I walked away thinking "I didn't really need to buy any of that and I didn't get the deal I was supposed to get" So you done good! Just an FYI to everyone who is having a hard time finding anything for the sale, especially Covergirl Makeup – the Smith's downtown on 9th east and 8th south is well stocked!! I stopped there on my way home from work and they had tons of everything!!
