All About Case Lot Sales

Let’s talk about Case Lot Prices for second. Just because something is called a Case Lot Sale does not mean it is definitely the BEST PRICE! So, keep that in mind. What I personally do is this:

1- Divide the number of items in the Case by the price of the case. Then, I will have a per item price.

2- Is that per item price cheaper than if I had a coupon to use on it?? If the item is a store brand item, could I buy the name brand at a cheaper price with coupon?? If either answer is Yes, then I won’t buy the Case.

3- There are many items that are cheaper than what you can normally get with a coupon. Those are the cases I stock up on. So after going through the two-steps above, you should be able to figure out which deals are really good deals and which are just ok.

4- Also, make sure your family can eat the cases before they expire!

  2. At Macey's (and other Associated Foods stores) you don't have to buy the whole case to get the price. It is the same either way you buy it (see the ad for individual price and case price, they're the same per unit). So if you have a coupon for a limited quantity, you can still use it. You're right, though, caselot doesn't always mean it's a great deal.Even if all you see on the shelf is a case, it's OK to open it and just take as many you need. If you don't feel comfortable opening a case, just ask an employee to do it. I love Associated Foods stores for this reason, because I rarely buy an entire case of anything. WF cereal is also $0.88/per box when you buy 5 with the in-ad coupon!

  3. Cindy- That's awesome!! I didn't know associated Food Stores did that! Every other store will make you buy the entire case! Very good to know!
