Ok, so last night I had to pick up a few things for our trip to Disneyland. I’ve never traveled with a baby before so I’m a little anxious about it! So I headed over to Smith’s.
Of course, I had to do a little coupon shopping too right? So I grabbed a bunch of Cocoa Pebbles and Fruity Pebbles. We have $1.00 off 2 Coupons from the 03-14-10 SS to use. So that would make the boxes $1.00 each with the sale they are having right now.
But wait! If you purchase 4 boxes of either Cocoa Pebbles or Fruity Pebbles, you will get a $3.00 Catalina at checkout. You can use that Catalina on your next purchase! That ends up making your cereal $.25 a box! Wow right?
However, if you are going to buy more than 4 boxes of cereal, you will want to do them in different transactions. If you buy 8 boxes in one transacation, only 1 Catalina will print out. So, separate them!
Also, DO NOT pay for your second set of cereal boxes with the Catalina, or a new Catalina will not print out!
Last night, I ended up doing three transactions:
#1- 4 Boxes of Cereal
#2- 4 Boxes of Cereal
#3- All of the rest of the items I was buying from the Smith’s List I wrote and a few things for our trip. I used both of my $3.00 Catalina’s then!
** If you are planning on doing something similar to me, give the cashier a heads up that you need to do 3 transactions so you can get the Catalina printed out. Then, they won’t be so annoyed!
There is a TON of cereal. They have it on huge slabs towards the front of the store. So, go and grab yours! (Thanks to everyone who commented and emailed about this deal! Great find!)

Do you know if it's only the Fruity Pebbles and Coco Pebbles that are producing the Cat? Are there other types that qualify?

Thanks so much Melea!! I was heading out to "train" both my bros on coupon shopping and we're starting with the Smith's cereal deal tonight, so that will make it that much sweeter!! Just a heads up, this may or may not work for you. I did the same transactions last night( saw the deal on another site) with a friend, I got the Catalinas she DID NOT. We both did the exact same thing, so she went back this morning and tried again, she only scored 1 Catalina. Just a warning…dont get to excited.

Jennie-If it didn't print out for you, call up Catalina at 1-888-8Coupon. Choose option 3. And have your receipt ready. They may be able to give you credit for the mistake!

Smiths is not like Walgreens in that the catalinas are different. You CAN use your catalinas on your next purchase and still get another catalina. I just did it and have done it many times for Smiths sales. Walgreens is the only store that you can't roll the catalinas. I hope that helps someone. And do call the Catalina company if you don't get one, they will mail it to you.

I almost missed mine the cashier gave me a receipt and I was waiting for my cat. He didn't really know what I was taking about and then boom it printed looks like the coupon printer was just slow.

Just tried it AGAIN on Saturday, still no Cat. Called, I was told that what prints for one state does not always apply for another.I'm not in Utah so it's different. I've also figured out( and called Smiths to verify) that you get a different weekly add in Utah. That explains why lately when Malea posts the Smiths deals ours are slightly different. So now I realize she gets a different Walgreens and Smiths add, and have also noticed the coupons in her paper are sometimes VERY different then ours here. I did not realize there were somany differences….be aware.

I just went today. I was able to get two catalina's, one from my first transaction which I did use for the second set of cereal. I still recieved one off of that as well for the rest of my groceries. Super deal, I was so excited! Thanks for sharing!p.s. I only recieved the catalina's on the fruity pebbles and cocoa pebbles, honey bunches of oats didn't work.
