If you know me personally, I am VERY concerned about what shows my family watches. And even right now, it is just me and my husband. Before we go to a movie, I always do extensive research online to see what kind of movie it is and if there is anything inappropriate in it. I just don’t want to go to a movie I will regret later. And, once my children are older, I will be concerned about what movies and shows are appropriate for them too.
I just found out about this awesome website called Common Sense Media! It is a site that will tell you what kind of content is in each movie. They will even let you know what ages it is really appropriate for. And parents like you can rate movies they have seen to help others know what movies are safe for kids and which aren’t. I am really excited about this! This will make it a lot easier for me to get information when we go out to see a movie or rent a Redbox.
Also, Common Sense Media also reviews Video Games, Books, Websites, TV and Music. So, you will always know what things you may want to steer your family away from! Common Sense Media is FREE! And, you all know I love Free!
Plus, when you sign up for your free access to their website, they will send you a promo code to get an entire 2 Weeks free of Disney Digital Books online. No obligations.
They are only offering a limited supply of completely free months to Disney Digital Books, so you will want to sign up quickly.

There is a similar site screenit.com that covers current movies as well as dvds. It implies that you need to be a member to view the material-but if you scroll all the way to the bottom you can select "Free Reviews". I have been using this site for almost 20 years and never been disappointed. These types of services are invaluable to us as parents (and grandparents!)
