    • I talked to the centerville Walmart and the said you can show up a couple hours early and the associates on the floor will have a map of where each guarantee item line will be at. You get in line and starting at 6 they will give you a guarantee card and the item if available. They stop handing out the cards at 7 but as long as you have that card you can purchase it. If you don’t get your actual item they will “site to store” it and you will be contacted once the item is ready. They said there will be tons of people so show up in time to wait in line!

      • I went last year for some items that were on sale at 8 pm. They had been unwrapped and everyone was crowded around the items with one hand on them. It was CRAZY! It was much more organized for the other item I wanted and you just got in line and they handed them to you.

    • It says pretty clearly below the In-Stock Guarantee tag that it’s In-Store Only. Not sure why people can’t look for themselves and rely on everyone else to do it for them.

    • Typically they have an associate there to cut off the line at that time and monitor who was last (last year they gave that person some sort of card of something to signify they were last)

She said that they are doing wristbands this year so instead of getting a “ticket” in your line, you will get a band which guarantees you to get the product as long as you come back to pay for it within an hour from the starting time. This allows you to walk around and get other bands or items rather than waiting in that same line.

  86. For those of you that want the deal online and not to make lines in store. I just got an email from Best Buy (which kept their apple deals hidden until today) they have today only online sale of the mini ipad for $299 plus a $100 BB gift card that will be mailed to you.

Now my question is, the gift card you get at Walmart since you get it same day, can you use the gift card that same day towards other products/doorbusters? I can surely use that gift card to buy more gifts on items they will have that day. But don’t know if they are restrictions where GC can only be used after certain date? i read somewhere that it can be used for a future purchase.

    Reply
    • Typically with a gift card it can’t be used on the same register trasaction and take up to three hours to post the amount on the gift card. My suggestion, if you like BB more, get it there, but if you are willing to wait for it at Walmart, take a friend and you get in line and buy the Ipad while they get in another line and once you have bought the Ipad call and check the GC balance, if it says $100, give it to your friend to pay for your remaining gifts! If not, then you always have a GC for another time (like next year or groceries 🙂 )

    • Best Buy deal says “Sold Out Online”. Looks like we all missed out on that one.

  87. So, do you think they’ll have ANY of the iPad Minis actually “in-stock”? Or will it just be “get in line and get a card”?

The reason I wonder is because I need TWO of them, but the fine print says “1 guarantee card per person per item”. ðŸ™

  93. Walmart in Brandon fl did not honor the guarantee. Employees and one man that identified himself as a manger at the electronics department did not know about the cards and had no interest in helping get one. Basically employees seemed unhappy about working today and were having a hard time hiding it. I finally found the area the iPads were. Found two female employees with a box with several iPads which they declined to sell. They did tell me they might have some to sell after 8 and suggested I shop until then. I decided I will pay a little more somewhere else where they have happier employees.

  96. went to a walmart in ohio got a wrist band for ipad mini. got a ipad in hand and a voucher/gift card for another. at the register she rang up my ipad mini and then gave me $100 gift card then she rang up my voucher/gift card for the ipad mini and did not give me the gift card for that one so i asked why and she had no clue so we go a manager and the manager said that the system was screwing up so she had me pay for my purchase then after that she gave me another $100 gift card. when i got home and did the one hour guarantee online that is when i found out that you do not get the gift card until the item is shipped. so i made out like a bandit. got 2 ipad minis and $300 worth of gift cards when i was only entitled to $200.

  97. If only the sale ad were true.
Imagine your surprise to find all in stock mini iPads sold out 4 hours before the sale began. Here’s how Black Friday at my local WalMart played out.
Wrist bands were given out to customers up to 4 hours before the sale for mini iPads was to begin. These lucky people were able to pay for and get the in-store / in-stock ipad (and a $100 gift card) once the advertised sale began; all other customers who waited in line were given a 1-hour In Store Guarantee flyer.
Those of us with flyers paid for the mini ipad at the store and were told to register on line with a code from our cash register receipt and a code from our flyer to ORDER our “already purchased” mini to be shipped to our local Walmart. The mini MAY get here as late as three days before Christmas, but the kicker is the gift card.
While you have already forked over $325 to Walmart for your mini, (which may not get here within next ten days) the advertised $100 gift card WILL NOT be given to you until you pick up your mini.
My issue is with the wording on the sale flyer — a $100 gift card with purchase. The ad DOES NOT say with purchase and pick up of item.
Walmart’s response when I pressed them on their holding my gift card hostage was, “the transaction is not complete until the customer picks up the item, and since there are many dishonest people who could cancel their order after we(Walmart) had given them a gift card , this type of person would have essentially received a free gift card.”
What?! So I am being treated like a dishonest person? Walmarts ad DOES NOT say with purchase AND pick up of item. This is false advertisement, so who is being dishonest here??
Keep at it Walmart and that’s all you’ll have shopping there, I’m out!

  98. False ads is absolutely true!!! Come to my surprise I bought 2 mini ipads 1 hour guarantee in store after so much confusion with so many managers co workers at walmart once your shipping goes through which should be a few business days then your gift cards are suppose to post online but did mine friday morning and still waiting but once it post online you can go shopping online but if you wait till they ship your minis it is still ecard meaning only shop online so Ibbelieve the better business bureau needs to know about this because I am still irate about the bracelets being given out 4 hours earlier and no one can tell me where that was advertised because it want

  100. The Ipad Mini Walmart put on sale that day had “One Hour Guarantee”. That means in that one hour guarantee period, whoever got the ticket of that item and paid for that item must have the item too. They cannot say the item is out of stock, and especially, they cannot say the item is out of stock when they already get paid for the item 17-18 days ago. And now they sent me an email showing they canceled my order saying the item is out of stock. When I paid for the item on Black Friday night(17-18 days ago), the item wasn’t out of stock. On Black Friday, I stayed awake the whole night and got the ticket including excess code and paid for my ipad Mini, and registered my purchase online, and in few hours I already received the confirmation email from walmart, which showed my order will be ready between 12/14/13 and 12/22/13 at my local walmart store. And now on the 12/13/13, I received an email showed that walmart issued $328.16 to gift card and canceled my order. I didn’t stay awake the whole night on Black Friday to buy just walmart gift card. If I want to buy just Walmart gift card, I can go to the store anytime and buy it.
I already bought the case cover for this ipad mini, and emotionally attached to this item, and have been waiting for since I paid for my item(17-18 days ago). If Walmart wasn’t sure whether that item would be “in stock or out of stock”, the Walmart wasn’t suppose to advertise “One Hour Guarantee” on the sale paper, and make customers paid for the item at the store right a way. It is really immoral if they cancel the order just like this saying the item is out of stock, especially in these type of cases.

    Reply
  101. Walmart must have made millions of dollar enforcing customers, including me pay for the item on Black Friday. I have paid $328.16 for my Ipad Mini at the store, and registered the excess code online. I have received the confirmation email from walmart, which showed my order will be ready between 12/14/13 and 12/22/13 at my local walmart store. And now on the 12/13/13, I received an email showed that walmart issued $328.16 to gift card and canceled my order. I didn’t stay awake the whole night on Black Friday to buy just walmart gift card. If Walmart wasn’t sure whether that item would be “in stock or out of stock”, the Walmart wasn’t supposed to advertise “One Hour Guarantee” on the sale paper, and made customers paid for the item at the store right a way. Now they don’t want to refund the money either saying their system won’t let them refund the money; moreover they issued gift cards.
So, one hour guarantee deals came out a scam, and it’s called cheating.

I of course had to pay for them up front. Anyways they are suppose to be here before Christmas. Well I got an email stating that the order is close to being here but they (Walmart) was going to be sending a 10.00 gift card for any inconvience in case it doesn’t arrive before Christmas. Which told me that they would not be here before Christmas. I if course had to pay for the headphones up front but they have failed to follow through on their before Christmas promise. What a joke I will not be doing this again. Shame on you Walmart!!
