I saw on the Discovery Gateway website that they are only charging $1 admission when you bring in two cans of food on Wednesday, November 21st…so that’s a great deal too!

I just looked too, but on their calendar it now says that for every 2 items you bring you get one free admission. That IS a great deal…does anyone know how crazy it gets on days when they do free or reduced admission? I’m particulary asking about the zoo and the Discovery Gateway.

I’ve gone to the zoo on free days in January before and it was not too crowded. Being winter it’s not too crowded anyway. It’s actually our favorite time to go. The animals are more active.

free zoo days in winter are great and not too crowded! We try to hit them at least 2 times a winter.

Also, the Tracy Aviary at Liberty Park does Winter Wednesdays where admission is only $1.00/person.
