NEW Facebook Newsfeed Got Ya All Messed Up??

Of course, Facebook had to go and fix something that wasn’t broken.  Uggh…

If you go to your home page on Facebook, chances are that you won’t see any updates from Freebies2Deals until you scroll from the very bottom.  Facebook has chosen (on its own) which feeds it thinks you will like.  For me, they were people I don’t even really talk to or follow… and they were at the very top.

So, in order to fix the newsfeed to show what you want and the feeds you actually want to see, here is how you do it:

Click on the right hand corner x on each post on your wall.  If it is already a Top News Story, you will see something like this:

Click on the “UnMark as Top Story” link.

If you scroll down further into your newsfeed, you will see that some of the people you actually want to get regular updates from are NOT marked as Top Stories.  So you will see something like this:

Just click on “Mark as Top Story” and hopefully it will change your newsfeeds.

You will probably have to do this for just about every feed that shows up on your wall.  And, honestly, I think it is such a mess!

If you want to get regular updates from Freebies2Deals, make sure you make it a Top News Story!

This almost makes me not want to post on Facebook at all anymore…

  1. I agree! I hate it when facebook goes and changes things. I was so frustrated when I went to it this morning. Please don’t stop posting there, I will willingly scroll to the bottom to find your posts!

  3. I agree with Tiffani. Don’t stop posting, and I think we all need to complain like crazy. It’s really nuts how they decide what we want to see.

  5. I found a faster way- click on the blue earmark in the left corner to unmark as a Top story, and then click in that same spot on the ones you do want to be a top story. Much faster than clicking the x. Still, so annoying how they do this!

  23. It was a big enough pain before when I had to click “most recent” to see the new posts, or else see the same posts come up multiple times. Now I can’t even do that and everything is out of order like others have said. I don’t like having someone tell me what I should be most interested in seeing or reading. I don’t think they did any kind of feedback with this or any change they have done. I have never known of a change occurring until after the fact.

  24. If you go to that first x you can choose “all updates” on those you want to always see ex. Family. Or you can go to your profile click on subscriptions and go through your entire friends list. However it does take a while depending on how many friends you have. I’m going to try out google+ for now and see if I like that one better.

  26. I have to agree with all of you!! I hate that Facebook decided that they should tell me what I’m interested in! What posts they want me to see. It’s ridiculous! Now I get 15 posts on the top of my page that are the same! It’s so frustrating! To make it worse my only internet connection is on my android phone. Is there any way to change the settings from mobile Facebook?
