So, I’ve heard rumors that Target may be changing their coupon policy.  But, haven’t actually seen anything on their website until today.

Looks like they have added a few clarification points on the Target Coupon Policy.  So, make sure that you print out the new policy and read it so you are familiar with any changes.

The newest addition includes information on BOGO coupons and how you can use and stack them with a manufacturer or Target coupon:

Buy One Get One Free Coupons (BOGO):

·         BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, the use of one Buy One Get One Free coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to the guest and the 2nd item will be discounted by its full retail price.

·         A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.

o    If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon maybe used on the first item.

o    If a Manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.

It actually looks like if you use a Target BOGO Coupon, you can use 1 cents off Manufacturer’s coupon.  And, if you use a Manufacturer’s BOGO Coupon, you can use 1 cents off Target Store Coupon.  However, you cannot use  a Target BOGO with a Target cents off coupon or a Manufacturer’s BOGO with a Manufacturer cents off.  Hopefully that makes sense!  Read it a few times if it doesn’t. 🙂

  1. Regarding the cents off coupons on BOGO free. I think they are saying if you have a Manuf BOGO coupon you can’t use another Manuf coupon but can use a Target coupon, same with the Target BOGO – you can’t use another Target coupon but can use a Manuf coupon. Hope that makes sense.

  2. I don’t think they made a mistake at all. The wording is “a second cents-off coupon of the SAME TYPE” cannot be used. The lower only says the same thing……if you use a Target BOGO, you have to use a manufacturer’s cents off and visa versa. The “Same Type” wording holds the key.

  3. The way I read it is, you can’t use a 2nd coupon of the same type – if the BOGO was a Target coupon, then you can only use manuf. coupons towards the first item and vice versa. I had to read it a couple of times to figure it out, the wording is confusing.

  4. *sigh* well I guess the rumors I heard here in Los Angeles were true! I heard Target was going to change their policy since last month. I guess this is #1….Hopefully the other rumor about only using one coupon per item isnt true. Meaning no more combining target with manufactures….But I think this policy change isnt all that bad.

  5. I still don’t get it….does that mean if I bought 3 tampon boxes I couldn’t use my 3 BOGO coupons in order to get six total? I’m totally lost here.

  6. My question is if I print one of Targets web coupons and is says “Limit one coupon or offer per transaction” does that mean I cannot combined it with a manufacturer coupon as well?

    • Raine, You can use one Target coupon and one manufacturer on EVERY item.. unless the coupon prohibits it. So, you can still use that Target coupon.

  7. What does it mean if it says “limit one coupon or offer per guest” on the target coupon? does that mean you can only purchase one of the items with one of the target coupons instead of multiple numbers of the same item with copies of the same coupon?
