First of all, let me just say that I love all of you and your support of Freebies2Deals!!  I wanted to let you know that I have decided to take the day off on Saturday.  To say I am “burned out” would be a complete understatement.  So, I hope you can understand my need to take the day off- along with my usual Sundays off to spend time with my family and go to church.

Hopefully this extra day off will help rejuvinate me to be ready for Monday- we have a lot of deals and freebies that day that I’ve already been notified about.  So, stay tuned! 🙂 Thanks again for being so great and understanding!

  7. Malea, I am curious about something. I have been following your site almost since it’s “birth” and have learned sooo much. Although I do check other sites as well, I check in with you EVERYDAY, sometimes several times a day, just to see what youv’e posted. I’m 36 and a married LDS mom of 5 children ages 19, 17, 16, 10, and 4. I spend at LEAST 25 hrs a week wrking on coupon deals saving every cent I can, trying to compisate for a 50% loss in my hubby’s income. (We live in Nevada and the economy is one of the Nation’ s worst). I also of course hold church callings and homeschool my children. I say all this because I do truly understand what it means to be busy. I’ve noticed over the last few months you mentioning burnout a lot> yet, you keep adding to your site, and even now planning another coupon conference. WHY? If all the wrk with the site is becoming to much, should you not do less, not more? I for one believe even if you do less on your site, what you do do will be done with more energy and focus, and therefor you will be able to continue to bring us all the amazing deals that you bring to us daily. One of the reasons I follow your site so closely is because of your honesty. I KNOW that you would NEVER share a coupon or deal with your readers that is not 100% legal or ethical. I so appreciate that. I never have to worry about any of the deals you post. Having said that, I don’t want to lose your site and all it brings us all, so if you need to cut back or cut down the amount of time this all takes (which I;m sure is TONS) do it!I think I can speak for your other loyal readers when I say, We will all support you. Again, LOVE YOUR SITE!!!!

    • I’ve been wondering the same thing. You have a small child, how do you spend the time you need to with her when you are constantly online? You should step back. Don’t let your drive on the site ruin the only time you have with your child at the age she is right now. She’s learning from you what is important what message do you send her when you are always online? You can blog anytime, you only have today to appreciate her cuteness at this moment. I was reading on The Thrifty Couple about how they felt they lost a ton of time with family and had lost site of what’s important. I love the site too, but is the price to great? You mention burn out soooo often. Just an observation, it’s not meant to offend. Best wishes.

  17. I really can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said. I too check your site multiple times during the day & am amazed at how many additions are made! I LOVE your site! While saving money is certainly important, your sanity & family come first. If you don’t feel comfortable taking off every Saturday, I suggest taking of 2 per month. (1st & 3rd OR 2nd & 4th.) It’d also give your faithful fans a break too. *hee* Whatever you decide, you know we’ll support you. Just keep those great deals a’comin.

  21. I too know what its like to feel burned-out – I run my own business and am raising two girls who seem to be active in everything under the sun in school so after working 12 hour days, I’m taxi-mom….Well, I used too be, I cut down my hours b/c I was exhausted and got sick easily which was NOT good. I hired someone to help…maybe you should look into it. Just a part time weekend person that you trained personally. That’ll give you a break and keep the site going which I know is important to you 🙂

Whatever you decide, taking a break is good & people will understand!! Do it more often. Don’t burn yourself out b/c you might resent the site and you don’t want that to happen!

  22. Just remember you quit your job away from home to be a mom and if you feel like your website pulls you away from that goal too much, just step back and enjoy what matters most. Everyone that reads your site should understand that family comes first. I love following your deals, but if there weren’t as many or more posted at once rather than as soon as they happen I would still follow your site. I just know kids grow up to quickly and don’t miss out on that time.

That said I love your website and think you are doing a great job.

  23. Hey-most jobs are only 5 days a week-you should plan that. I so appreciate what you do. Work 5-take off 2-it’s good for the body and soul.
