If you shop at Smith’s, this is a fun announcement for you!  Instead of waiting for your Rewards money from Smith’s, you now can redeem them at the Smith’s Gas Pumps or participating Shell Gas Stations to save up to $1.00 off per gallon instead!

For every dollar spent at Smith’s (BEFORE COUPONS), you can earn 1 Rewards Point.  For every 100 Rewards Points, you can actually get $.10 off per gallon (up to 35 Gallons).  You can choose to use your points directly at the pump, or opt to wait for your Quarterly Rewards Check from Smith’s.  It’s totally up to you.

But the best part is that April 13th-19th, make ANY purchase using your Shopper’s Rewards Card and you will get 200 Rewards Points added to your account.  (That would be like making $200 in purchases).  And it redeems for $.20 off each Gallong at the pump.  Or you can choose to save them for your Rewards Check from Smith’s.

  1. I think this is great! I’m super excited for this! Do they have the new guidelines for this in store? If so I may just have to go get me a brochure and read up on it!

    • I’m sure they will have a brochure on it by Wednesday. I’ve seen a digital copy of it. 🙂

  2. So if you don’t use the points at a pump, you get the money back? I was upset because I had 4 fuel rewards expire last month. I had no idea how it all worked out!

  3. I find this new program lame. You can’t get both fuel rewards and money back savings anymore. You have to pick one or the other. Smith’s was my favorite place to shop but not anymore. And only up to 35 gallons you were to beable to get up to 100 gallons with the old way they did their fuel rewards.

  4. I don’t think it is lame. Getting up to a 1$ off of gas is great. How many people actually got 100 gallons? I think most of us knew that double dipping was not going to last long. Now with the program 1000 points could get you up to $35 off. There was no way with the old program that you could have gotten even close to that.

  5. I think the fuel rewards are amazing, but I drive a big truck and we have a boat. After speaking to the fuel center we were told that we could use the fuel rewards for both our truck and boat at the same time. I would fill up the truck, have my husband hold the pump while I pulled forward and he would fill up the boat. We would save a little, ($5.00 at the most) but we all know a little can sure add up. I know the cap would be $35.00 but that is huge for us! I will take the fuel rewards over the certificate. Plus like all things I hope this will evolve and maybe you can do half reward certificate and half fuel reward.

  6. Spending a $1000 would have gotten you several fuel rewards though and then still the $10 certificate in the mail. Now its either $10 certificate or $35 off gas assuming you fill up with 35 gallons most cars are only 12 gallons. I see it as less savings over all.

  8. How can you put a positive spin on a new policy that takes money out of your pocket? Even if you never used a fuel reward point, you would still get a quarterly check to spend in the store. Now, you will get one or the other, so you will lose out overall.

  9. Lisa how is it taking money out of your pocket. This is money that Smiths is giving us, I do not see any other store giving us anything. I usually get about $12 back every 3 months and maybe $3 in fuel savings a month with a lot of my fuel coupons expiring that I never got to use. Now if I take that 1200 points and use 1000 to fill up my car and my husbands car at the same time I would get at least $24, That is more than I got before and looking at the press realeases it looks like they are going to give us a lot more opportunuties to earn bonus points, in fact I just got a thing in the mail from Smiths giving me three coupons of bonus points. All in all I am very excited to pay less then $3.00 for a gallon of gas.

    • You can fill up two cars when they have a limit of 35 gallons? I guess for those of us who fill up vehicles with large gas tanks (mine takes 30 gallons), and so does my husband’s, plus we have other toys that we will up all at the same time to save money, this new program is not very beneficial. Before, I could get up to 100 gallons at a .20 cent discount, all the while getting a quarterly check as well. Lets not forget that Smith’s gas actually runs about 10-15 cents higher than Costco’s as well, so i really is not as great a discount as you might think. So when Smith’s has been giving me a check every quarter as well as gas discounts, and now they are taking one of those away from me, that is just another way of saying that they are taking money out of my pocket.
