Utah Readers: Double Coupons at Walmart on Tuesdays!

DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission.

Update:  The Cedar Hills Walmart is the store who said that the Regional Walmarts  near Ridley’s should be following suit with this promotion.  However, if your store doesn’t know anything about it, you could always head to Cedar Hills instead to get in on the deal without having issues. This is obviously going to be hit or miss for all of us.  But I’m hoping the Walmart stores nearby Ridleys will be on the same  page within the next few weeks since there WAS a regional meeting about it. GOOD LUCK!!

I know we have a Utah Only Section..However, I was worried that most of you wouldn’t see this post in time to cash in on this awesome deal.

I have verified with the Cedar Hills Walmart location that ALL Walmarts near a Ridley’s Market will be Doubling Coupons on Tuessday in order to “price match” with Ridleys. Any coupon under $1.00 will be doubled.

Example:

  • $.25 off will be doubled to $.50 off
  • $.30 off will be doubled to $.60 off
  • $.50 will be doubled to $1.00 off
  • $.75 will be doubled to $1.00 off**That’s the cap.

Hopefully you get the drift!  All cashiers SHOULD know this is going on.  However, when I talked with Amy (the CSM at the Cedar Hills Walmart) she mentioned that Walmart locations had a huge meeting about this last week and should all be on the same page. If you have problems while you are checking out, call up a CSM manager to help your cashier out.

**This will more than likely only work with Walmarts that are close to a Ridleys Market.  Some of the further away Walmarts like in St. George- may not be willing to double.  So let us know how that goes! I was also told that you WILL NOT need a copy of the Ridley’s ad and that they should all know to just double the coupons.

And everyone, let us know what deals you score while you are there!  Should be some great deals and items to stock up on.

IMPORTANT:  Please do not let your cashier tell you they are not doing this.  Ask to speak with the Customer Service Manager.  It is a brand new regional policy for them to match the Ridley’s Double Coupon Tuesday.  So many cashiers may not be aware.

(Thanks Kristen for the heads up!)

  3. So does this mean Bountiful/Centerville Walmart will do this too?

    • Should be! You can call to make sure though.. ask for the CSM.

        • 🙠I was hopeing for a reason to start shopping at Walmart. When is Bountiful going to get a store that doubles coupons?

  4. I would love more information on this. I just called the Syracuse Walmart (near where I live) and they know nothing about this. We don’t have a Ridley’s up here, but if it’s a 100 mile radius (I would guess we are close to that 100 mile radius), we’ve got to be close.

    • Did you ask for a Customer Service Manager?

      Reply
      • I did at the Layton Walmart.

        Reply
        • I did – I was speaking with her and she knew nothing about it. I also tried the Layton store and they hung up on me. So I’m glad Brooke was able to get through. It looks like it may be just the areas where Ridley’s are located.

  5. I called the Layton Walmart and they said they don’t know anything about it. How can I find somewhere who does?

    • I called Centerville and Bountiful too and they both said that it is not true and that they’ve had several calls about it 🙠So maybe it’s just the Cedar Hills Walmart?

      Reply
      • Okay, I called Cedar Hills and they said it’s just the Walmarts in that area, so Lindon, Pleasant Grove, etc. Bummer ðŸ™

        • Thanks everyone for your comments! If you don’t live close to a doubling walmart, it may be worth the drive- depending on what kinds of deals you can get. So if you head over, let us know how it goes!

  6. I talked to a csm in the price walmart who said he had heard nothing about it but we are not close to a Ridleys, I had never heard of the store until this post, so maybe that is why?

I’m on the phone with the Lindon Walmart right now — Hasn’t heard anything about it, call back in the AM and talk to Vicki
Saratoga Springs — Has no clue either, call back in the AM
Cedar Hills — Has no clue
    American Fork — No Answer
    Orem — YES!!

  8. According to Ridley’s they double UP TO $1.00. So, if you have a 50 cents coupon, you get $1.00 off, but if you have a 80 cents coupon, you only get $1.00 off- not $1.60. (Kind of like what Smith’s does every once in awhile).

  9. coupons would only be doubled up to a dollar.
.75 coupons would not bet 1.50 but only $1

    Reply
  10. Just know if you are doubling it has to be WALMART in store price, you cannot price match and double coupon.
The easiest way to remember Walmart policy is:

If you are price matching , manufacture coupons only

If you are doubling, it is Walmart in store price
( example, carefree liners are $.97 in store price, there is a save $.50 on any(1) Carefree product in this week’s coupons. So to get it at the double coupon price your cashier would ring it in like a price match at $.50 and then take the coupon off = FREE Carefree liners) and remember it only up to $1.00 ($.25 = $.50, $.50 = $1.00, $.75=$1.00)

I know this is policy at the Payson Store.

    • Check with your store in the last hour I have been told that I am wrong and the Payson Store will not double that they used to, but as per my stores policy as of today it has ended. 🙠This should be for all locations from what I hear.

  11. I’m so glad you shared this post with everyone! It gives me a little glimmer of hope that Wal Mart has a heart. Clearly, I’m an “out-of-state” supporter of your site. I hope it’s a great success for all (shoppers and the retail giant) and will inspire other Wal-Marts to follow suit! Please post any comments you receive from it.

    P. S. I love the changes you made to your site! It saves me time looking for deals I can take advantage of. *heh-heh-heh*

  12. Is there anything we can do to get some double coupon-age in Davis County?!?!?

    Reply
  13. I called the Lindon Walmart this morning and after being transferred a couple of times, I did get verified that they will double coupons only on days where other stores double them. So, I’m going to bring my Ridley’s ad just in case. I have a feeling the cashiers aren’t going to know anything about this so just talk to customer service if you need to and bring the ad to back it up and you should be good.

  14. Has anyone been able to confirm if the AF walmart is doing it?

  15. We just called the Saratoga Springs and American Fork WalMarts and spoke to managment. Both said “no”. And actually, American Fork was super-ticked. He said that the regional manager that’s over AF is over Cedar Hills too, so he was giving him a call. Just a heads up, in case they decide to change at Cedar Hills…

    • So weird Misty- my good friend is at the American Fork Walmart right now and the CSM Manager said they were! Maybe they changed their minds after talking with Cedar Hills?

    • Ridleys doubles all on Tuesday.. not just the items in the ad.

  18. American fork is the LEAST accomadating and jerky of all the walmarts I have shoped at and worked for. They are HORRIBLE so you have to go with your guns loaded. If you need some ammunition ask for Ryan the Store manager or ask for a number to regional and CALL WHY YOU ARE THERE. They are JERKS

  19. I am a CSM at a Walmart in Salt Lake and there was recently a new coupon matching policy released by Walmart on March 11. You can log on to Walmart.com and print a copy of it out. Walmart has always and will always match any advertised price as long as it clearly states what the price is. We MUST follow instructions on the ad so if it says you have to buy 10 to get the deal at the store then you have to buy ten at walmart in order to get the deal. You are not required to take in the ad, however it does help to have the ad. The store is required to have copies of the ad there for reference. Walmart will match a store that is in their competing area, so if there is a Ridleys in the area then I am sure that they will match it in that area, but if you were to bring me an ad to my walmart in Salt Lake I would not be able to match it because it is not a competing store with me. The one thing that the policy does state is that we are to do no double couponing, now if a store in the area is running that offer and the Store Manager decides to match it then that store manager has the discretion to do that but it is not required of all walmarts in the area since it is solely that store manager’s discretion. An example at my store would be the policy states that we may match produce with like measurement (if the store has a sale in pounds and walmart sales it in eaches then we do not have to match it). My store manager tells us to make the customer happy and match the ad even though it is not in the same measurement. Another Walmart may not match that produce for that reason and the Store Manager does not give the discretion to the CSM’s or the cashier’s to match that. They are doing their job and following the policy that has been sent to them from the Home Office. We need to remember that these cashier’s and CSM’s are only doing their job and we should treat them with respect if they are not able to match something.

  20. Just to make everyone’s life easier who hasn’t gone yet…make sure you give them your doubling coupons before they scan the items. The way they have to do it is first “price match” down the value of the coupon which requires that they punch in the price manually as they ring you up. Then, they will go back and scan all the coupons so you get the double value. I didn’t know this and gave her all the coupons at the end, so she had to go back, void out everything that was doubled, and re-ring it all up! So annoying! Just an FYI.

    • Good to know!!! Sounds like a huge pain 😉 I am debating if it’s really worth the headache. I agree with the other readers, the American Fork Walmart is AWFUL!!!!!

  21. just got back from cedar hills walmart. i ended up having a cashier who had only worked there 2 days, so it was a very slow process (which is fine- i don’t mind being patient for a deal). however, he didn’t check me out correctly for the double coupons so some of my items i ended up paying more for than i should have. its okay though, he was still learning. i just want to let you all know to be aware of the correct way it is to be done, like Fiona posted:

  22. Well, I went and did the Wal-Mart deal. The cashier at Cedar Hills was actually kind of snotty about everything and the way she calculated the doubling was WEIRD. Plus, she said that the 75-cent coupons didn’t double to $1.50, so she only took off an extra $0.25 when she scanned those. We ended up stopping at the Lindon store to gr…ab some things we couldn’t find at the CH store and the cashier we got there was AMAZING. He scanned everything, had no trouble doing the double, was patient and nice! He also said that $1.00 coupons doubled too so I got $2.00 of a lot of things. And I had B2G1 free candy bar coupons and those doubled to B1G2!! My favorite find was cartons of orange juice for between $0.64 and $1.12 each, depending on the brand! I’ve never gotten OJ that cheap before.

If Wal-Mart continues this (and I hope they will!), I’ll be doing all my business at the Lindon store.

    • Wow! Really? Doubling to $2?!?!?!

When did you go? I have been itching to go but I have to wait until my husband gets home from work. The kids are with the babysitter so I can be there for hours! haha

      Reply
      • Yes, doubling to $2! I got spices, OJ, maxi pads and a crapload of other things for under $1 thanks to him! I was there at 4ish and again at 5 or so. We had to go home in between to put my daughter down for a nap so I went back out while she was sleeping and my DH stayed home. The guy that checked me out was only on duty until 6 but he told me if he was gone when I came back, to look for the lady who was training with him while I was checking out because he had showed her the right way to do it. She was on Register #9 when I left at 5:30 – she is very petite, darker-skinned (I’d say Filipino). Hope that helps!

    • I went to the Lindon Walmart today too & the cashier doubled all coupons- even my $1 Pert ones that I used on travel size $0.97 bottles. So it was $1.03 overage for EACH bottle 🙂 Get this- they gave ME $1.96 at the end because I had extra overage (hadn’t planned on all this overage so I should have grabbed more bananas or something!) Anyways- great trip, will be going to Lindon Walmart every Tues!!! Can’t beat better-than-free bags of groceries

      Reply
      • I went to Lindon! I was so anxious the whole time I was shopping haha, I wanted to see my final total. I accidentally had $4.82 in overage. I didn’t want it. But it was so late and I didn’t see anything at the register that I wanted. So they paid me $4.82 for $160.89 worth of stuff! I’m posting a pic of it all right now on my blog. usbabcocks.blogspot.com

  24. Booo! I just came back from Payson, and they’re most definitely not doubling. So sad. I guess a trek to the Orem wal-mart would have to be in order.

  25. This may be a stupid question, but I’m just wondering if they are still going to stick with the new policy that they don’t mark down the coupon to the amount of the item?

  26. SHANNON – Do you know the name of the person you talked to at Saratoga Springs Walmart? I live right by there and would LOVE to use double coupons there on Tuesdays but it would be nice to have a name when they tell me they don’t do it so I can ask for the person who said they do! Geez! You’d think they would have a meeting and get everyone on the same page huh? Good ole’ Walmart!

    • I don’t know who I talked but I’ve called twice today to verify they were doing this. They said to just bring in the Ridley’s ad. (However, it doesn’t seem to mention the coupon doubling on the ad online.)

  29. Thank you all for your information. I live in WJ and I am willing to drive to Cedar Hills or Saratoga Springs but I want to know where I get the Ridley’s add for the double coupon deal on Tuesday. I will go down on Tuesdays when I can but I would like to make sure that the Saratoga store will match and then where I get their add? Can I have it sent to me in the mail? Thanks to everyone for your information…

  30. I live in Saratoga Springs and the Wal-Mart here is awesome on Tuesdays. They have signs posted everywhere so people at the check-out lines know. Have your coupons ready for each item as it goes through so they can adjust the price for the product as they scan. Had a great experience, to bad it’s only doubled up to a $1.00 🙂
