Not Confident Using Coupons?? This Reader Wasn't Either!

After getting an email from a F2D Reader, I realized that many of you are probably in the same boat.  You may love using the online coupon codes, but be a little intimidated by using coupons in the store to save money on Groceries and other items.  Even after talking with a few of my friends at a Christmas party, the thought of learning and feeling confident using coupons in a store just sounded too overwhelming to them too!

Well, if you are one of those people, read the email from reader Cambria below.  She was just like you and finally took a leap into using coupons and isn’t looking back.

To help all of you finally have the magic of coupons “click”, I will be coming up a with a few different ways to help walk you through it this next month.  So hang in there!  I will also be doing a comparison for all of you so you can see how much you truly save with coupons over just purchasing the store brand.

Here is Cambria’s email:

Melea,

I just wanted to say thanks for all the deal organizing and posting that you do! I’ve followed your site for a year or so now and have always jumped on the online, clothing or toy deals but never really payed attention to the grocery deals.

The last two weeks though I decided to try them out at Walgreen’s and I am officially hooked. I have definitely been missing out on a ton of money by not taking coupons more seriously when it comes to my grocery shopping. I actually gave myself a challenge this week to go into Walgreen’s with only $6 in cash + coupons and to see how much I could walk out with without going over $6. It really ended up being quite a bit and all because I was organized and spent the time figuring out the deals.

I posted about my coupon success on my blog here:

and here:

Any way, just wanted to tell you thanks for all the work you do. You are saving a lot of people a lot of money, and coming from someone who has a husband to put through medical school…every little cent is meaning more and more these days so I really appreciate it. 🙂

  1. I'm just the opposite. I'm completely comfortable using coupons in the store but am not very comfortable using coupon codes online.
