  1. Best Buy frequently offers great deals, but shop carefully. Their return / repair policy is very strict. It crushes me to pass up their prices, but I can’t stand being gouged by restocking fees if I have to return something.

    • There is no restocking fees anymore. Computers and cameras have a 14 day return policy everything else has a 30 day.

  2. My not-so-secret, secret tip for Best Buy, always check their “Open Box” items–these are the things people have opened and returned, but there is nothing wrong with the item! Just because the shrink-wrap has been broken Best Buy has to discount these items, and usually it’s a pretty significant discount. Also, they incrementally discount the items as they sit on shelves longer. If there’s an item, like a 160G iPod, that I really want and find in an “open box” sale, I’ll wait and keep a watch on it until they drop the price even further. Sometimes it works, but you risk the chance that someone else will snag it! Can still be worth it though!
